I shoot with professional grade camera and lighting equipment. My preferred camera of choice is the Canon 5d. I own a mark IV and a mark III. Both are included in my camera kit and I bring those with me to almost every shoot that I do. In my kit I also have an assortment of lenses from wide angle to closeup. It also includes backup batteries, power supplies, chargers, memory cards, laptop computer and external hard drives for backing up files on set or location.

My lighting brand of choice for still photography is Speedotron. It’s known for being solid and reliable. I’ve shoot thousands and thousands of photographs and it’s crucial that every time I pull out my lights I know that they will perform beautifully. But what’s more important than the light itself is the modifier that you put on it. Each job is different and I try to pick light modifiers that best reflect the style and aesthetic needed to get the job done. From my beauty dish, to large format octabank, soft boxes and strip lights to open headed bare bulbs for that hard light shadow look. I also frequently shoot with a ring light which gives my photographs an extra punch of light.

For video I prefer Dracast’s line of LED lights. LED is quick, easy and more adjustable than other more traditional forms of constant lighting. They’re flicker free, don’t require time to warm up or cool down, and can be adjusted from 0 - 100% or from tungsten to daylight without the use of gels. And modern LED lights pack just as much output while using a fraction of the electricity of other units.

Whenever possible I like to shoot tethered to my laptop. The photographs that I shoot are immediately downloaded from my camera to my laptop and can be view or edited immediately on screen. I love shooting this way because it gives my clients the ability to see what their getting as were creating the artwork and make any changes that they would like. Having that kind of feedback and dialogue during the shoot is great and I always welcome my clients to be as involved in the shoot as they would like.
