Pasta Porn
La Pecorai Bianca is an Italian restaurant in Manhattan. These photographs are from a shoot that I did early on in the pandemic when restaurants were only able to do pickup or delivery. My goal with this shoot was to make the most eye catching pasta porn possible. I really wanted my work to reach out across the internet and grab that person sitting at home on their couch trying to decide what to have for diner. Pasta porn can do that. And while it’s not the art that challenges the mind and makes you think about your place in the universe it does the world a service. Restaurants need help to get through this rough time and people need delicious food to warm their hearts and take their minds off their worries and my photography can connect those two needs. And ideally my work should pay for itself and then some. I don't want anybody to hire me unless they think that they'll sell more pasta with my photographs.

I always try to punch the colors up a little. Move my light in a little closer to make it more intense and use a 100mm macro lens to really get in their close. Intimacy. It’s just you and the pasta.
