This is work that I photographed for the restaurant Mulberry & Vine. M&V is a fast casual restaurant with several locations in Manhattan and Brooklyn that serves good healthy meals to busy people coming in from offices or on the go. I’ve worked with them for several years, I forget how many and we always try to embody their slogan “Live Dirty, Eat Clean” in all of their marketing materials. Michelle Gauthier the owner of M&V likes the work to be clean, but not too perfect and with a touch of authenticity. And her Executive Chef Justin Schwartz is also a miracle of a food stylist who can arrange food with his eyes closed and it still comes out looking amazing. Their dishes usually have a couple simple healthy ingredients that when paired together taste delightful and look mouthwatering.

Fresh ingredients are everything at M&V.
Care in everything they do.
Over the years Michelle has wanted to capture with the photography not just the food itself but also the care and attention that goes into not just prepping and making the food but also into the customer service aspect of her business. I tried to talk her into staging an interaction with one of her employees and a “customer” but she always insisted on wanting to find that genuine authentic moment. I’ve spent a lot of time with her back and front of house staff looking for that perfect moment.
